Presenting the Unique Indian Music talents of Colorado
CFAA is committed to providing the platform for the emerging talents of Indian Classical music in the state of Colorado.
Our first program in this series was a dual concert (1 hour each) by 2 fantastic artists.

Prashanth Kallur (Carnatic Flute)
Prashanth Kallur has been learning carnatic flute since age of 12 under the able guidance of Vidwan Sri A.V.Prakash Mysore. He has been awarded the prestigious "Centre for Cultural Resources and Training"( C C R T ), Delhi , Scholarship from Government of India during the year 1998 . He has been perfoming concerts in and around the Karnataka, to name a few , Master Control Facilities ( HASSAN), Chennakeshava Temple (BELUR) , Sri Thyagaraja Sabha ( MYSORE) etc. He has also represented Karnataka in flute Category for a special program called " Unity in Diversity" held at Hyderabad conducted by Government of India. While continuing his musical journey in U S ,with his imaginative and artistic nature ,he has been successful in fascinating the audiences by his performances.
Meera Ganesan (Carnatic Vocal)
Meera Ganesan has been pursuing music with emphasis on the traditional South Indian classical genre popularly known as Carnatic music, under the tutelage of her father Sri R. Ganesan, Smt. Raji Subbaraman of Mumbai and Dr. Prameela Gurumoorthy of Chennai. She is captivated by poignant and ethereal music and strives for meditative/soulful renditions. She also dabbles in light music and is a proficient Bharatanatyam dancer. Professionally she is a Senior Oracle DBA with CenturyLink,Denver.

Venkat Subramanian (Mridangam)
Dr. Venkat Subramanian hails from a musically oriented family in Mumbai. He started his mridangam training at the early age of seven under the able tutelage of Late Vidwan Trichy Raghava Iyer, who is the elder brother of Late Alathur Panchapakesa Iyer, at the Bharatiya Music and Arts Society in Mumbai. Venkat has had more than 13 years of extensive training under his guru, which included an 8 year diploma course in mridangam. He was awarded the title of "Sangeetha Vidya Praveena" for the successful completion of an advanced degree in mridangam at the institute. He has performed in several venues, including the National Center for Performing arts and Andhra Maha Sabha and has accompanied several leading musicians in Mumbai. For the past three years, Venkat has been accompanying artists in and around the Denver area.
Gayathri Krishnamurthy (Veena)
Gayathri Krishnamurthy is a performing Vocalist and Veena player. She started learning Veena at the age of 7 under Smt. Kamala Sukumar and later under Smt. Shanthi Rao, disciple of Sri Chittibabu. After finishing an equivalent in Bachelors of Music from Sathuguru Sangeetha Samajam she started performing in All India Radio, Madurai for many years. Gayathri has performed various Carnatic and fusion concerts in various venues in India and the US.She plays in her fusion band 'Lagna', and also runs Jayalaya school of Music to promote Carnatic music in Denver area.
